Hawks School Organizational Team (SOT)

As prescribed by law, AB 394, each school has created a team made up of parents/guardians, teachers, support staff, students, and/or community members to assist and advise with many important decisions impacting the school. Members are elected by a vote of all parents/guardians at the school.

 

The team will be responsible for developing the school’s Strategic Budget and Plan of Operation. Using data to guide key decisions focused on student achievement.  They will also have the ability to weigh in on the hiring of a new principal, when required.

The nomination process includes completing an online nomination Google Form with your own name or the name of another parent/guardian by a specified date to be provided in advance.

 

Elections will take place through a Google Form sent to all parents/guardians through ParentLink and Class Dojo each year between specified dates.

Requirements of SOT members:

1. Begin attending meetings from October to September.

2. Attend meetings at least once per month, outside of school hours. The principal will send out meeting information/agendas at least three days in advance. All meetings will include a time for public comment, and we encourage all parents to attend.

3. Serve on the SOT for the entire year, unless your child no longer attends the school.
